MARYVILLE, Mo. — The Northwest Missouri State University women’s soccer program will play a 14-match regular season schedule in 2020.
In response to the NCAA requirements in maximum and minimum allowable contests and dates for the 2020-2021 season, the MIAA’s CEO Council approved a new 14-match women’s soccer schedule.
Northwest is guaranteed at least six home games and could earn more opportunities in the MIAA Tournament.
The final week of the regular season features a flex week with the top eight teams playing to earn a right to compete in the MIAA Tournament. Teams that finish No. 9, No. 10, No. 11 and No. 12 in the standings will be paired up for game based on geographic proximity.
Third-year head coach Marc Gordon will lead the Bearcats into action following a season that saw them reach the MIAA Tournament for only the third time in program history. Northwest went 6-10-3 overall and 4-5-2 in MIAA play, while posting 29 goals and a single-season program record 24 assists.
