MARYVILLE, Mo. — A Conception man was hospitalized Tuesday after a collision with a tractor trailer.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Donald S. Sullivan, 79, of Conception, was headed west on State Route M about 10 miles south of Maryville just before 5:30 a.m. Tuesday. That’s when Sullivan’s 2019 Toyota Corolla reportedly failed to stop at the intersection to U.S. Highway 71, striking a semi driven by Zachary S. Mills, 29, of St. Joseph headed north.

Sullivan suffered moderate injuries and was taken to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph by ambulance. His vehicle was totaled, and Mills’ vehicle sustained moderate damage. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

The highway patrol was assisted on scene by the Nodaway County Sheriff’s Office, the Maryville Fire Division and the Barnard Fire Department.
