MARYVILLE, Mo. — Candidates for office in Nodaway County introduced themselves and made their cases Tuesday evening at the Greater Maryville Chamber of Commerce Candidate Forum.
A scattered crowd gathered in the Lee and Nina Schneider Center for the Performing Arts, wearing face masks and sitting in every other row to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19. More watched the livestream on Facebook as well.
Moderated by local media leaders, the forum featured candidates who will appear on the August 4 ballot for south district commissioner, north district commissioner, sheriff, public administrator, 1st District state representative, lieutenant governor, governor and U.S. Representative for the Missouri 6th District. Speakers also presented on Amendment 2, which would expand Medicaid coverage.
The complete video of the event is available on the Greater Maryville Chamber of Commerce’s Facebook page.
