Big Fish 40 set to begin Friday

MARYVILLE, Mo. — 97-1 The ’VILL’s Big Fish 40 is set for Friday, June 5 through noon on Saturday, June 6 at Nodaway Lake north of Maryville.

Nodaway County HHW collection site to reopen

MARYVILLE, Mo. — The Northwest Missouri Regional Council of Governments has announced that the Nodaway County household hazardous waste collection site is set to reopen from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, June 6.

The site is located at the Nodaway County Maintenance Barn, 1516 East Halsey Street, Maryville, Missouri. Residents of Atchison, Gentry, Holt, Nodaway and Worth counties are welcome to participate (ID required), according to a council news release.

There is no fee to drop off; it is free for residents only. No commercial or business waste accepted. Examples of HHW include: household chemicals, fertilizers, pesticides, brake fluid, transmission fluid, household waxes, Ni-cad, lithium, and lead acid batteries.

St. Gregory School announces annual sale 

MARYVILLE, Mo. — St. Gregory Barbarigo School in Maryville has announced it will host its annual rummage sale from 2 to 8 p.m Thursday, June 11; 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, June 12; and 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, June 13 in the school gym. According to a school news release, items available will sell for $5 per bag. Bags will be provided. 

Due to COVID-19 there have been changes to the way the sale will operate. The school will limit the amount of shoppers to 25 people in the gym at a time. Public restrooms will not be available. The annual sale raises funds for the school’s Parent Teacher Organization, which helps purchase a variety of educational tools. Items for sale will include, but are not limited to, furniture, clothing, toys, books, DVDs, decor and housewares.
