Ten Squared Women gives to humane society

Ten Squared Women On a Mission selected the New Nodaway Humane Society to receive its quarterly donation of $7,800. The group, composed of 78 area women, meets four times a year to select a nonprofit organization to receive a donation. Each woman gives $100 per quarter and the nonprofits then receive a large donation, which founder Amanda Twaddle, center, said can really make a difference. “A lot of our women have pets, so I know that they were very happy about this organization getting our donation,” she said. Shelter Manager Wendy Combs, right, told The Forum that the NNHS plans to use the funds to purchase electronic chips for the year. When bought in bulk, she said, they receive a discount. Crystal Ward, left, said the shelter takes in about 700 animals per year that receive the chips. Twaddle said the organization is always looking for new members.
