CONCEPTION JUNCTION, Mo. — Amy Holtman is a mother, a wife and a guidance counselor at Jefferson High School. But Holtman is more than that, Holtman is an athlete. At 40 years old, Holtman qualified for the Boston Marathon, only to see it postponed due to the new coronavirus. But for the Jefferson counselor, running wasn’t always her passion.

“I’ve been running for 20 years, I’ve always been active and always enjoyed doing things outside,” Holtman said. “When I was younger, I always played sports and loved competing. I ran in high school for track and stuff, but that wasn’t really my passion — basketball was.”
