MARYVILLE, Mo. — Northwest Missouri State University head athletic trainer Kelly Quinlin has announced the addition of two athletic trainers for the upcoming school year, Jackie Sher and Matt Cannella.

Sher comes to Northwest having served as a graduate employee athletic trainer at the University of Oregon. She worked with the Ducks football, track and field and club sports programs in her time in Eugene, Oregon, beginning in September 2017.

Sher worked as a summer 2016 intern with the National Football League's New York Giants. She earned her undergraduate degree in athletic training from the University of Missouri in 2017. She posted her master's degree in human physiology from Oregon in 2019.

Cannella joins the Bearcats after having worked two years as an associate athletic trainer at Newberry College in Newberry, South Carolina. At Newberry, Cannella worked with the men's basketball, men's/women's tennis, golf and football.

Cannella earned his bachelor's degree in athletic training from Kean University (Union, New Jersey) in 2013. Cannella tallied his master's degree in athletic training while serving as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at West Virginia University in 2013.

Cannella had two stints in the NFL as a student intern for the Giants in 2012 and as a seasonal assistant athletic trainer with the Detroit Lions in 2015.
