NE Nodaway wins its first softball game in two years

Northeast Nodaway beat Bishop LeBlond 11-8 on Tuesday night in St. Joseph.

Jaden Atkins finished the day 3-for-4 with a double. Lauren McIntyre and Delainey McIntyre each added two hits.

Anne Schieber pitched a complete game and allowed five earned runs on 11 hits with no walks and two strikeouts.

On Monday, the Jays lost 13-2 to Worth County in Grant City. Lauren McIntyre led the offense with a 2-for-3 day.

On Thursday, Northeast Nodaway lost 12-2 to DeKalb in DeKalb. Schieber had two hits to lead the offense.

West Nodaway tops North Nodaway in volleyball

The West Nodaway Rockets picked up a four set victory on Tuesday on Burlington Junction.

The Mustangs swept South Harrison on Monday in Bethany. The game scores were 25-14, 25-16 and 25-20.

Southwest Livingston rolls past Platte Valley football

The second-ranked team in the state, Southwest Livingston, came away with a 60-6 victory over Platte Valley on Friday in Ludlow.

Memphis Bliley led Platte Valley with 66 yards passing. He threw a 24-yard touchdown to Trevor Weir in the second quarter.

Weir finished with two catches for 42 yards.

Platte Valley will travel to winless DeKalb on Friday night.

East Atchison volleyball sweeps Nodaway-Holt

East Atchison swept Nodaway-Holt on Monday in Graham. The game scores were 25-19, 25-16 and 25-20.

Nodaway-Holt senior Shaina Culp led the team with nine kills, five blocks, six digs and two aces.

Kloe Jenkins had three aces and six digs. Emma Bohannon and Kayelyn Edmondson each had three kills and Krista Hart had 11 assists.
