2018 In The News

OLATHE, Kan. —  Five-year-old Hudson Horn will have the opportunity to play one of the nation’s most prestigious golf courses.

After shooting a 40 (nine-hole score) in Olathe, Kansas, two weeks ago and winning the event by seven strokes, Horn punched his ticket to the American Kids’ National Tournament this weekend at Pinehurst Resort in North Carolina.

Pinehurst has hosted three U.S. Opens, a PGA Championship, a Women’s U.S. Open and the Ryder Cup in previous years. It is also already slated to host the 2024 U.S. Open.

Horn is the son of Adam and Sarah Horn. Adam was a football standout for Maryville High School and Northwest Missouri State. Hudson’s grandparents are Maryville residents Rick and Susan Horn and his great-grandparents are Bob and Joan Horn.

Over 600 golfers from 50 different countries will compete in the event which tees off on Friday and runs through Sunday.
