MARYVILLE, Mo. — Northwest Missouri State added to its senior athletics staff this week with the hiring of Ryan Milke as the Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing.

“I think this is a great opportunity for me to make some great connections,” Milke said. “I think Maryville is a great town and somewhere that I could see myself staying for a long time.”

Milke obtained his undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Northern Iowa before working for Lehigh University. After working for Division-I programs, Milke admits that he wasn’t looking to take just any Division-II job, but that Northwest offers unique opportunities that even some Division-I schools can’t offer.

“I wouldn’t just go to any Division-II school, but I think they have more resources than some of the Division-I schools that I have seen,” Milke said. “Those winning traditions definitely helped draw me to there.”

It also helped that while at Northern Iowa, Milke worked closely with Bearcat Assistant Athletic Director for Media Reelations Colin McDonough, who convinced Milke that Northwest and Maryville were the right fit for him.

“It helps having a familiar face and that kind of drew me to the job as well,” Milke said.

Milke replace MacKenzie Magwire, who now works as the Director of Marketing and Promotions at the University of Central Arkansas.
