MARYVILLE, Mo. — The Spoofhound baseball team had eight players honored by the All-Midland Empire Conference team released on Saturday.

Senior pitcher Adam Becker, senior centerfielder Tyson Arnold and senior first baseman Tyler Houchin each earned second-team recognition.

Becker finished the season with 28 innings pitched and a 5.75 ERA with 38 strikeouts and 24 walks. He was also effective at the plate with a .408 batting average.

Arnold was the Hounds' lead-off hitter this season and hit .340 with a .410 on-base percentage. Houchin hit in the three-spot and hit .389 with a .500 on-base mark.

The Hounds had their other five honorees make the honorable mention selections.

Senior second baseman Drew Driskell saw his first season as a full-time starter end with an honorable mention selection. The two-hole hitter batted .370 and led the team with 17 runs scored.

Senior outfielder Payton Schieffer also made honorable mention as he connected on one of the team's six homers for the season. Senior Creid Stoecklein made the honorable mention list in large part due to his stellar work defensively at catcher.

Sophomore shortstop Connor Weiss led the team with seven extra-base hits — five doubles, a triple and a homer. His .281 average earned him an honorable mention nod.

Sophomore outfielder Trey Houchin finished second on the team with 16 runs scored and rounded out the honorable mention selections.
