MARYVILLE, Mo. — Maryville senior Addison Hall went undefeated in set play at the individual Class 1 District 16 tournament at the Mark Rosewell Tennis Complex Friday, capturing first team all district honors and advancing to the sectional round.

"It was so cold out that playing was tough," explained Spoofhound head coach Nicole McGinness. "Addison played like the cold temperature didn't even faze her.

"She was determined and concentrated on each game and played like the winner she is. I am so incredibly proud of her. She never faltered. She went out and played her game and came home with first."

Hall was the second seed in the individual tournament and received a bye in the first round. She went on to defeat Rowan Davis of Lafayette 6-0, 6-2; Sydney Brown of Benton 6-3, 6-1; and Kally Horn of Benton 6-2, 6-2.

"She is one athlete I wish I could have for four more years," McGinness continued. "She always has a positive attitude and is a great leader for this team."

In other singles action Amber Ebrecht fell to Corinne Stewart of Savannah 1-6, 3-6.

Individual sectionals will be played at Rosewell at 4 p.m. on Monday.

The doubles team of Arianne Skidmore and Lauren Cullin took third place in the doubles competition and were named second team all district.

They defeated Bettis/Morris of Lafayette 6-1, 6-1; Thogmartin/Bontrager 6-3, 6-3; lost to Weddle/Netten of LeBlond 3-6, 2-6; and then defeated Johnston/Church of Benton 8-2 in the third place match.
