Dear Editor,

As a small business owner and a firm believer in capitalism, I wish to complain in the strongest possible to terms to the so-called “middle-class income tax cut.” Our 2018 federal taxes have literally doubled, which means we significantly underpaid our estimated taxes. Now, we have to take a considerable amount of money out of the local economy and send it to Washington. There’s a very simple solution to reducing our total income tax by moving our business from Missouri to a state, like Florida, with no state income taxes. Can anyone explain to us how this will help the State of Missouri, in general, and Maryville, in particular?
