Robert “Bob” Dean Beggs
Robert “Bob” Dean Beggs, of Wellington, Kansas (formerly of Guilford and Stanberry, Missouri) passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2020 at the age of 77.
Bob was born the son of Robert L. and Veda E. (Goforth) Beggs on October 4, 1942 in Maryville, Missouri.
On October 20, 1963, Bob and Sandra K. Clary were united in marriage in Louisburg, Kansas. They celebrated 54 years of marriage before her passing in 2018.
Following high school, Bob attended a technical school where he learned many different skills. He was employed as a welder and later operated his own machine shop in Missouri.
Bob and his family eventually moved to Kansas where he was employed as a machinist for Plessey-Welco in Wellington and Cessna Aircraft in Wichita. No matter where Bob lived, he was always involved in farming and harvesting. He will be missed by all that knew him.
Survivors include his son, Kyle Beggs of Maryville, Missouri; son, Kevin Beggs and his wife Melinda of Wellington, Kansas; daughter, Karla Defore and her husband Jeff of Wellington, Kansas; daughter, Karra Atkerson and her husband Mark of Wellington, Kansas; sister, Rita Allnut of Joplin, Missouri; brother, Gary Beggs and his wife Melody of Smithville, Missouri; 18 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife; sister, Janet Sue Beggs; sister, Mary Lou Phillipe and sister, Betty Jean Carroll.
Graveside services for Bob will be held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, May 31, 2020 in the Forest Hill Cemetery in rural South Haven, Kansas.
Memorial contributions may be given in his name and loving memory to the Belle Plaine FFA or the Alzheimer’s Association. Contributions can be mailed or left at the funeral home.
