Richard “Dick” Schuetz

1936-2019 

Richard (Dick) Schuetz, 83, of Stover, Missouri, died Saturday, June 22, 2019 at St. Mary’s Health Center in Jefferson City. 

He was born May 13, 1936 in Parnell, Missouri the son of Aloys and Hazel (Comer) Schuetz. 

He was baptized July 3, 1937 at St Joseph Catholic Church in Parnell by Fr. Bonaventure. He was confirmed at Conception Basilica in Conception, Missouri. 

He was a graduate of Jefferson High School in Conception. After graduating Dick enlisted in the Army and served Company D 14th Infantry in New York and Germany.  He recieved his honorable discharge February 9, 1965. Following his military service he was a delivery driver for Budweiser for 20 years, worked at Eveready Battery Company in Maryville and most recently retired from The Family Center in Versailles. 

On August 27, 1983 he was united in marriage to Marilyn Burgess Ward, who survives of the home. He accepted her three daughters as his own. 

In addition to his wife he is survived by children, Tracy Ward and friend Don Stanley of Rocky Mount, Wendy and Mike Randall, and Miranda and Chris Oehrke all of Stover; five grandchildren, Tyler Ward and friend Sarah, Cassidy Hibdon and friend Sage, Matthew, Dylan, and Alivia Oehrke; and four great-grandchildren Kaihle, Abel, Kennedy and Harper; sister Betty Bliley of Stanberry, Bob (Caroline) Schuetz of Yelm, Washington, and Maurice (Clarice) Schuetz of Plattsmouth, Nebraska; sisters and brothers-in-law, Marianne (Joe) Brown, Melody (Larry) Bix, Hopkins, Missouri; along with numerous nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, mother and father-in-law, Gene and Pearl Burgess; brothers-in-law Ralph Bliley and Michael Burgess; and nephew Joshua Bix. 

 In keeping with his wishes, he will be cremated. A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, June 29 at 3 p.m. at the American Legion Tri-C Memorial Post 464, 3rd and Berry, Conception Junction Missouri 64434.
