James Douglas “Doug” Jordan

James Douglas “Doug” Jordan passed away on July 9, 2019 after a brief and difficult battle with illness.

Doug was born on August 15, 1956 in Skidmore, Missouri to Donald Jack Jordan and Marilyn Sue Garten and moved to Maryville, Missouri, after his father’s death in 1960. He was raised there by Sue and stepfather Ralph C. Archer, graduated from Maryville High School and met and married the love of his life - Janet Ann Cacek on September 9, 1978. They moved to Texas in 1983 and eventually settled in Corsicana permanently where they would live, work and raise their children for the next 34 years. Doug enjoyed ranching, building hot-rods, street stock racing, and quietly giving back to the community in acts of service in the name of his grandchildren. Doug was a well-known carpenter and cabinet maker responsible for some of the most beautiful homes in Navarro County, and the play houses at Fannin Elementary in Corsicana. His vast knowledge and impeccable craftsmanship will be forever missed.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Janet Ann and his parents. He is survived by his children Jody Lynn Jordan, James Earl Jordan and his wife Sadie, and Jeffery Dean Jordan, and beloved grandchildren Ryan and Annalee, all of Corsicana. He is also survived by siblings Christie Jordan, Mark Jordan, mother-in-law Saralee Cacek, and his wife’s siblings: John Cacek, Joyce and Mark McKean, Jim Cacek, and Jay Cacek, as well as nieces, nephews, loved ones and friends.

The family will receive visitors at Griffin Roughton Funeral Home Corsicana on Friday, July 12 from 6-8 p.m. The funeral service will be Saturday, July 13 at Griffin Roughton Chapel at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Corsicana.
