STANBERRY, Mo. — The Tri-County Health Department reported Tuesday the first death of a Gentry County resident due to COVID-19.
The resident was a female in her 90s. The case was not travel related, the health department said in a statement.
Older adults and people of any age who have serious underlying medical conditions may be at a higher risk for more serious complications from COVID-19.
According to the health department's Facebook page, the Tri-County area has had 30 cases, 10 recovered and one death.
The health department recommends to call a health care provider if exhibiting symptoms such as fever, cough or difficulty breathing.
