Jefferson Peace Poster winner

Jefferson C-123 student Mylie Holtman recently won the Maryville Pride Lions Club’s Peace Poster contest. Mylie is shown here, third from left, with, from left, her mother, Amy Holtman; Carole O’Riley, Pride Lions member; and her teacher, Bill Meiners. The theme of this year’s contest, according to O’Riley, was “Journey to Peace.” Mylie Holtman’s poster depicted a slow-moving turtle carrying many pictures of life’s challenges on its back. “I did a turtle because I thought of how the turtles go through a journey in life,” Mylie Holtman said. Her poster will now move on to the district level of the competition.
