MARYVILLE, Mo. — The Northwest Missouri Regional Council of Governments has announced its new executive director.
Nearly a year later, Jerri Dearmont will replace former executive director Todd Spencer who resigned the position in July 2018.
Dearmont had served as interim director since then, but has been with the council since December 1988, according to a news release from the council. She also serves as the administrative secretary and grant administrator.
A graduate of Nodaway-Holt High School, Dearmont attended Northwest Technical School in Maryville earning a secretarial degree.
As grant administrator with the agency for more than 30 years, she has administered more than $111 million from various grant funded projects withing the five-county region.
For the past year, she managed a staff of seven employees and worked with agency programs that involve economic development, transportation, workforce development, solid waste, hazardous mitigation and grant administration.
The board of directors officially approved Dearmont as the executive director on June 4.
In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family and friends, camping and traveling. Dearmont resides in Skidmore with her husband Jeff.
