MARYVILLE, Mo. — Nodaway County Economic Development Corporation is offering a new way to invest in local businesses.

The organization is in the early stages of beginning a seed capital fund, which would allow relatively small investments in growing Nodaway County businesses.

“Right now we’re just trying to get a feeler out to folks and see, is there some interest,” said NCED Executive Director Josh McKim. “It’s just trying to make sure it’s open to the community at large. This opportunity we wanted to make sure is open to people who may not have been normally approached who may be interested in (investing).”

McKim estimates that anyone interested could expect to kick in between $500 or $1,000 a few times a year, but specifics are still up in the air depending on how much investors would like to get involved.

If interested in the program contact NCED at 660-582-4490 or developer@nodaway.biz.
