CLEARMONT, Mo. — A 16-year-old Clarinda minor was taken with serious injuries to Mosaic Medical Center – Maryville after a single vehicle wreck on Friday night.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, She along with another occupant Ashlynn Roberts, 17, of Clarinda, who is listed as suffering moderate injuries, were transported to the hospital after the crash that occurred around 9:15 p.m.
That report indicates the crash occurred as a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix driven by Abbie Morrow, 17, of Burlington Junction, was eastbound on 170th Road when it began to travel off the south side of the road and the driver overcorrected. The car drove off the north side of the road striking several trees and began to spin counter clockwise coming to rest partly in the westbound lane facing northwest.
The rear passenger was ejected from the vehicle out the rear window. Morrow and Roberts were listed in the report as wearing a safety device. The juvenile is listed as not wearing a safety device.
The vehicle was a total loss and was towed by the scene by Shells Service Towing and Repair.
The crash report was filed by Cpl. B.E. Maudlin, who was assisted at the scene by Trooper A.J. Kempa, the Nodaway County Sheriff’s Office, the Nodaway County Ambulance District, the Burlington Rescue Squad and Clearmont Fire.
