MARYVILLE, Mo. — A Conception Junction man suffered moderate injuries early Tuesday in a deer-related single-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 136 two miles southeast of Ravenwood.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Jacob I. Young, 24, was driving a 1996 Plymouth Breeze eastbound on 136 when he swerved to avoid a deer. Young then veered off the left side of the highway, struck an embankment and came to rest in a ditch facing west.

Young, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken by private vehicle to Mosaic Medical Center in Maryville.

Damage to the vehicle was extensive, and the car was initially left at the scene

Trooper D.R. Reuter was assisted in working the accident by personnel from the Nodaway County Sheriff's Office.
