MARYVILLE, Mo. — Emergency crews have closed the intersection at First and Main after a tractor-trailer struck a utility pole Wednesday afternoon.
Just after 3:30 p.m., the tractor-trailer was heading east on First Street when the driver attempted to turn right to head south on Main. While making the turn, the trailer hit a utility pole on the corner of the sidewalk that was holding up traffic lights. The pole was separated from its base and pushed a few feet as the trailer continued to move south.
Police have shut down Main Street from Jenkins to Second Street. Motorists should avoid the area until the intersection has been made safe and cleared for travel.
