KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The office of U.S. Rep. Sam Graves (R-6) has announced the release of the “Sixth Congressional District Flood Recovery Resource Guide.”
The booklet, available in print and online versions, is intended to steer north Missourians affected by recent floods toward federal agencies and programs designed to assist them with rebuilding and recovery.
“This year’s flooding destroyed homes, businesses, farms and communities,” Graves said in a prepared statement. “There are a lot of resources available out there to folks trying to recover and rebuild. I want to make sure people know what help is available and how to access that help.”
The guide can be accessed online at graves.house.gov/floodresources. Order print copies by calling one of Graves’ district offices, which are located in Kansas City, 816-792-3976; St. Joseph, 816-749-0800; and Hannibal, 573-221-3400.
In addition to supporting other flood-control and mitigation legislation, Graves recently introduced the “Resilient Communities Act of 2019” (House Resolution 3531), which would allow the Federal Emergency Management Agency to help Missouri and other states fund mitigation projects designed to reduce disaster risks.
