Maryville Mayor Jason McDowell presents the city’s Beautification Award for July to homeowner Carol Owens.

MARYVILLE, Mo. — Carol Owens, 415 S. Alco St., is the July winner of the City of Maryville’s Beautification Award.

According to a City Hall release, Owens has completely re-landscaped her property by removing old overgrown and damaged tress and adding a large display of daylilies near the front entrance.

The backyard has also been redone with flower plantings and decorative pieces.

Each month from April to October the city recognizes a property owner for beautification and improvement efforts at their home or business.

Winners are chosen from among nominations voted on by municipal code enforcement officers.

Those wishing to nominate a property owner for the award should call City Hall at 660.562.8012 or visit www.maryville.org and follow the “Community” link to the “Pride of Maryville” page.
