MARYVILLE, Mo. — The Greater Maryville Chamber of Commerce is set to kick off the summer with the annual Kid’s Block Party event with the help of “Mr. Stinky Feet,” on Thursday, May 16.

From 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. children can participate in free activities including inflatables and even receive free snow cones during the event.

It is set to be held at the city parking lot located at Fourth and Buchanan streets in Maryville.

At 7 p.m., headliner Jim “Mr. Stinky Feet” Cosgrove will offer his enthusiastic brand of musical entertainment.

The event will feature booths put up by local business owners with free activities for children and families.

Last year’s event saw about 30 booths offer everything from filling bottles with candy to face painting and free hot dogs, to a dunk tank and inflatables.

This year, Lily White, executive director of the chamber, expects just as much participation, if not more.

Because the businesses don’t have to pay for a booth spot, she said owners usually wait to sign up, but she believes there is still just as much interest in providing a fun outlet for area children.
