MARYVILLE, Mo. — Mosaic Medical Center – Maryville has announced that J. Michael Feuerbacher, M.D., is the recipient of the MU Rural Track Excellence Award for Distinguished Community-Based Faculty for Academic Year 2017-2018.

According to a news release from the hospital, each year, the Rural Track Management Group at University of Missouri School of Medicine chooses one community-based faculty member to recognize based on the past academic year’s student nominations.

“Dr. Feuerbacher was an outstanding preceptor who went well out of his way to help me learn as much as I could while on my family medicine rotation, despite a busy clinic schedule,” Katie Hocker, medical student, wrote in her nomination. “Dr. Feuerbacher demonstrated the kind of caring, compassionate and down-to-earth physician that I hope to be in the future.”

Feuerbacher a family medicine physician at Mosaic Specialty Clinic – West in Maryville and has taught 16 medical students since 2008. 

“I am honored to receive this award, and honored to work with medical students,” he said.
