MARYVILLE, Mo. — The Greater Maryville Chamber of Commerce announced its first monthly customer service award last week.

Adriann Chiles, the wine and spirits manager at the Maryville Hy-Vee, was named the January Greater Maryville Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors Customer Service Award winner, the organization said in a press release.

Chiles was nominated by Paula McLain, who said Chiles leads by example, citing Chiles’ habit of carrying customers’ groceries to their cars for them.

The awards recognize individuals and teams that exhibit exceptional customer service. For more than a decade, the chamber has given out the awards at one time, in conjunction with National Customer Service Week. This year, the organization said it will spread them out, giving one award per month to enhance the importance of customer service year-round.

A new award winner will be announced on the second Monday of each month at the regularly scheduled Chamber Ambassadors meeting. Nominations can be made through the chamber’s website.
