MARYVILLE, Mo. — On Monday, June 3, Pagliai’s Pizza hosted a benefit in support of the New Nodaway Humane Society. Pagliai’s donated 100 percent of the dine-in dinner revenue made that night.
The benefit raised a total of $4,012. Wendy Combs, shelter manager, expressed her gratitude for the support.
This was the second time the business has held the fundraiser for the humane society. According to Combs, at the benefit in September Pagliai’s employees had a difficult time keeping up with the dishes during a very busy benefit dinner that raised more than $4,200.
This year, so many community members came out to support the humane society that they formed a queue outside the building. And this time employees used paper plates and bowls helping dinner go more smoothly, she said.
When asked about how she felt about the outcome, Wendy smiled.
“I feel very fortunate and happy about it,” she said. “I think the community was very, very supportive.”
The profits received will go toward either the community spay and neuter program or the general operating fund of the New Nodaway Humane Society.
