SAVANNAH, Mo. – The University of Missouri Extension will host the second-annual Three-State Beef Conference Jan. 13-15, 2015, with locations in Iowa, Missouri and Nebraska.
The Three-State Beef Conference, formerly the Four-State Beef Conference, is designed to give beef cattle producers and others in the beef industry in Iowa, Missouri and Nebraska a regular update on current cow-calf and stocker topics. The conference provides a forum of specialists from three of the United States’ leading beef cattle land grant universities, as well as other industry experts.
Speakers will focus on business and strategy. University of Nebraska Extension Beef Specialist Rick Rasby will speak about evaluating supplementation strategies. University of Nebraska Extension Forage Specialist Bruce Anderson will discuss forage systems. Finally, Iowas State University Extension Cow-Calf Specialist Patrick Gunn will speak about the financial impacts of fertility and infertility in the current cattle market.
The first session of the conference will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13 at the Southwestern Community College in Creston, Iowa. The Missouri session will start at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14 at the MU Hundley-Whaley Learning Discovery Center in Albany.
Two different sessions will be held in Nebraska. The first session will begin at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 15 at the Gage County UNL Extension Center in Beatrice, Nebraska The second will start at 6 p.m. at the UNL Ag Research and Development Center in Ithaca, Nebraska.
